The arithmetic mean of 5 consecutive integers is the 3rd integer or the middle number.

Therefore, if a1, a2, a3, a4 and a5 are the five consecutive integers, then a3 = 11

Hence, a1 = 9 and a5 = 13

Sum of the least and the greatest integer = a1 + a5 = 9 + 13 = 22.
